Happy New Year everyone!

Over the holidays Lyssette and Carlos were able to participate in the George Morris clinic in Penryn. Several Windmillers were able to make it out to Day 1 (Karley and Erica) and Day 2 (Paulette).

Lyssette and Carlos did very well, they navigated their first Bank jump and Carlos overcame his phobia of the Liverpool.

Lyssette has purchased the DVD from the clinic and we will be planning a barn viewing party. Look forward to George Morris inspired lessons in 2012! Karley snapped some pictures, so enjoy.

The barn Holiday Party is this Saturday, December 3rd at 2pm in the main barn! It is a pot luck so bring a dish to share, there will be fun games, great food, and awesome conversation.

We will still have lessons on Saturday morning. Be prepared to ride at 11am!

No Lessons on Thursday or Friday. Feel free to come out and hack your horses though in between servings of pie!

Irene will be back for Saturday morning Lessons!

Congratulations Jen, on the purchase of Billy. We know you will enjoy a long partnership with Billy.

This last weekend Irene took 3 Windmill-ers to ride at the oldest horse show circuit in California, Nevada County Horse Show.  We admired the perpetual trophies and even found Windmill Alumni, Krissy Darrell’s name on the Marge Chamberlin Medal Trophy, from back in the day!

Windmill represented and brought home 2 perpetual trophies as well as ribbons in all classes entered. Results can be found here: 2011 Show Results.

Congrats to everyone on a good show, and a special congratulations to Erica and Pogo for their first away show together!

Congratulations Karley on the purchase of your new horse, Henry! Henry is a 16hh 5yo Thoroughbred and he arrived yesterday after much anticipation!

We know you two will shine in all your future endeavors.

An update, though according to the California Department of Agriculture, there are no positive cases in Alameda County of EHV-1, we at Windmill Ranch want to take the precaution that many other shows are taking and canceling our June 4th show. There may be a rain date announced but at this time we are unsure.
